Who is Evan Peelle
- December 9th, 2008
Evan Gach Peelle was born on Long Island in 1983. Evan’s earliest exposure to art came about when he trained as a sculptor under his grandfather and renowned artist George Gach. Early on, he realized this passion for the arts would become a life long devotion. After his grandfathers passing, he went on to seek out the very best classical instruction, starting with his first mentor and dear friend Frank Porcu. Porcu’s teaching methods with live cadaver dissection and intense study of human perception shaped Evan’s aesthetic vision and gave him the fundment undertstanding of the inner workings of the human composition. Moving on to many other institutions and private instructors, Evan has gained the skills and knowledge of the world’s most renowned minds. For years, he has traveled extensively through Europe and Asia to study and understand the work of his predecessors, which constantly humbles and provides him with a deeper understanding of the art we create.
Process:
For evan, the creative process is like a road constantly under construction and never the same twice. Every challenge presents itself to the artist as an opportunity to learn and expand the artistic process; each one bringing forth a new work to be enjoyed by all. A new work will begin with honed in drawing and calibrated composition. Next, Evan works with the drawing to create a sense of volume and light on the subject before revisiting the work and fine-tuning it to complete the dynamic illusion and integral whole.
